Grounding Indigenous youth in the lessons of their Elders.

What Is It?

Money Stories is a customized money management training program for Indigenous youth. The program combines Indigenous Elders speaking about their experiences with money with facilitator-led activities about money that are relevant to youth. In the words of Grandfather Vern Dano of the Strong Running Horse Lynx Clan,

In these modern times with current infrastructures, Indigenous populations are now adapting too. It is truly similar to older systems where there were always currencies among Indigenous populations. Infrastructures are crucial and important to build healthy relationships with ourselves, internally and externally.  Our stories are currencies where we share learned information and pass it to future generations. Connections to the younger Indigenous populations are vital to connect land stewardship and responsibility to our homes and shelters we live in just like in the past. Our youth are our future so we must invest in their futures too! Miigwetch
