SEED Winnipeg is committed to protecting the personal information of all program participants, applicants, staff, volunteers, and donors. We follow the principles of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) in how we collect, use and disclose personal information.

How We Collect, Use, and Disclose Personal Information

SEED Winnipeg is a non-profit organization that provides free programs and services to people living on low income. Our programs are supported by government and private funders.

We collect personal information, such as names, contact information, and birth dates, from program applicants and participants by phone and through online and paper forms. We use this information to:

  • contact people about our programs
  • check if people qualify for our programs
  • keep records of the services we provide
  • understand who uses our programs
  • review whether we are meeting our goals
  • write anonymous reports for our funders

We keep all personal information confidential and private. We may share personal information as part of financial or program reviews by our funders. We will not share your personal information with other organizations without your permission.

How We Keep Your Information Secure

We take many precautions to protect your personal information whether you share it online or in person. For example, when you provide sensitive information via the website, that information is encrypted before it is transmitted, and is saved in a secure, password-protected environment. When you provide sensitive information in person or on paper forms, that information is securely stored in a locked facility. We limit access to information so that only authorized people who need this information to perform a specific job are granted access.
