What Is It?
SEED works with BGC Winnipeg to manage a bursary fund for children who completed the CSI Summer Learning Program at Winnipeg School Division elementary schools. Children can qualify for $400 in bursary money for each year they completed the program since 2009. This money can be used for education after high school.
What Can I Get?
If you have a child or children that went to the CSI Summer Learning Program:
- Your children may have earned bursary money that they can use for their education after high school
- You can deposit this money into a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). By opening an RESP you can get extra money for your children’s education from the Canada Learning Bond and Canada Education Savings Grant.
If you went to the CSI Summer Learning Program as a child:
- You may have earned bursary money that you can use for your education after high school.
- You can work with SEED to use this money for education-related expenses, such as tuition, textbooks, or a computer, once you are registered for an education program after high school
- You can also work with SEED to deposit this money into a Registered Education Savings Plan. By opening a RESP, you may qualify for extra money for your education from the Canada Learning Bond.
Am I Eligible?
To get a bursary, you or your children must have attended the CSI Summer Learning Program at a Winnipeg School Division school in or after 2009. You can contact SEED to check if you or your children earned a bursary.
