BEST Information Session

Business Enterprise Support & Training (BEST) program is a free, 5-week small business training and consulting program available to all Manitoba residents living on a low income who would like to start or expand a business. The program is also available to groups or organizations wanting to open a social enterprise.

How To Apply:

Step 1: Attending One of our Virtual Information Sessions is required.

Information session dates are April 14, April 16, and April 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Zoom link will be sent 3 business days before the information session.

Step 2: Book a Virtual one-to-one meeting with us after the information session to complete and submit a full application.

Step 3: The training is presented In-person at SEED on weekdays during nights from May 26 – June 27, 2025 (Mon, Wed, and Fri, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM).

• Market research
• Business structure & regulations
• Sales forecasting
• Business owners and service provider guest speakers
• Financial statements
• Marketing & promotion
• Operations

BEST program training is presented in 3 phases:

• Phase 1: Small Business Management Training
• Phase 2: One-to-one Business Consulting
• Phase 3: Business Launch & Aftercare

Who Can Apply:

To qualify, you need to:

• Live in Manitoba
• Have a business idea that will help create a stronger and healthier community
• Have some skill, experience or training in the area desired to start a business
• Live on a low income or serve people living on a low income
